How Email Triage Works

The problem with email

The average executive receives over 120 emails per day. Most are informational, many are low priority, and only a handful truly require your personal attention. VP solves this.

How VP triages your inbox

When a new email arrives, VP analyzes it across several dimensions:

  • Sender importance — Is this a VIP contact, a direct report, or an unknown sender?
  • Content urgency — Does the message contain time-sensitive language or deadlines?
  • Action required — Does the email need a reply, a decision, or just awareness?
  • Thread context — What is the history of this conversation?

Priority levels

VP assigns one of four priority levels:

  1. Urgent — Requires your response within the hour
  2. Important — Needs attention today
  3. Normal — Can wait until you have time
  4. FYI — No action needed, just awareness

Smart drafts

For emails that need a reply, VP prepares a draft based on your communication style and the context of the conversation. You review, edit if needed, and send with one click.

Bulk actions

VP groups similar emails together — newsletter digests, meeting confirmations, automated notifications — so you can handle them in batches rather than one by one.
